The term Eosinophilia refers to a condition wherein there is a high count of the Eosinophil cells, beyond normal capacity either in the blood or the body tissues.

Eosinophils are a kind of white blood cells in the human body, produced in the bone marrow.  They have two major roles to play:

Destruction of foreign substances that enter the body, any form of virus or parasites leading to infection
regulating inflammation.
They are crucial in maintaining the health and immunity of the body.

People of any age group can be affected by Eosinophilia. During the normal functioning of the body, Eosinophil cells do not have a large count in the blood. The condition ‘Eosinophilia’ occurs when there are more than 600 Eosinophils present in the blood, per microliter. If the Eosinophil count rises more than 1500, the condition can last for months and is termed as a hypereosinophilic syndrome.

 Signs and Symptoms of Eosinophilia

The signs and symptoms usually point out towards the underlying cause of the condition. Some of the symptoms include:

• Shortness of breath, wheezing etc. when the Eosinophilia is due to Asthma
• Pain in the abdomen, diarrhea, fever, cough or rashes when Eosinophilia is arising out of some parasitic infection
• When the condition is due to some allergic reaction, the symptoms are rashes and itching

• the oppression makes the patient angry
• the patient also has a condition of thyroid 

2. Lachesis 0/5 or higher, three times a day

Take this medicine when

• Due to illness patient experiences suffocation
• there is difficulty in breathing, not able to bear even the slightest of pressure around the throat
• fever increases after sleep or after consumption of cold water, vinegar or any other sour item

3. Histamin 200 or 1M, as per dosage required

• along with illness, there is also a difficulty in digestion of food 

4. Natrum Sulph 6 or 30, three times a day

Take this Eosinophilia medicine in homoeopathy when

• it is difficult to breathe due to feeling cold or when it is raining and the weather is humid
• fever increases due to intake of banana, water chestnut or items cooked in water such as: rice, pulses etc. 

5. Hipar Sulph 6 or 30, three times a day

Take this Eosinophilia treatment in homoeopathy when

• there is difficulty in breathing accompanied by a consistent sound
• there is rattling of a very loose mucus
• fever increases in reaction to a little increase of cold temperatures
• patient becomes acutely sensitive towards cold temperatures and touch 

6. Cassia Sophera Q or 30, three times a day

• it becomes difficult to breathe right before coughing
• there is a rustle in the throat, a needle pricking like sensation in the lower portion of the chest
• patient wishes to drink cold water
• the illness increases on coughing or walking around and decreases on laying down or consuming hot beverages 

Biochemical Medicine: Natrum Myur 12X, Natrum Sulph 12X

Other important medicines for this condition: Arsenic Alb, Bacillinum, Ipecac, Medorrhinum, Phosphorous, Silicea, Syphilinum, Tuberculinum and so on.

Also, there happens to be a special secretion in milk which helps in controlling the Thyroid gland. Hence, for patients affected with Thyroid, it is a good idea to consume more milk.
